About the Role

The Welder sets up and performs entry-level welding on a variety of metal components, ensuring alignment, dimensions, and quality meet strict standards. The role involves interpreting technical documentation, operating welding equipment, and inspecting finished work for compliance. • Set up entry‑level welding components involving similar or dissimilar metals and alloys. • Interpret work orders, blueprints, and bills of material to determine weld specifications. • Perform MIG, TIG, arc, and stud welding according to blueprint requirements. • Adjust welding machines to achieve proper penetration and clean welds for imperfections. • Inspect completed welds for squareness, finish quality, and compliance with standards. • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Write routine reports and correspondence; communicate effectively with customers and employees. • Perform basic calculations involving algebra, geometry, percentages, and volumes. • Apply common‑sense understanding to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

What You Bring

The position operates under minimal supervision, with routine tasks performed independently and occasional oversight. Candidates need a one‑year technical certificate or three to six months of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Essential skills include reading and interpreting safety rules, operating manuals, and blueprints, writing routine reports, communicating effectively, and performing basic calculations using algebra and geometry. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to prioritize tasks are also required, with no overnight travel and English as the working language.
