About the Role
This on‑site role at a landfill involves containing loose refuse to prevent scattering, directing traffic, and performing essential site‑maintenance tasks to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Key duties include manually picking up windblown paper and debris along the landfill perimeter, operating a tractor‑mounted mobile vacuum to clear loose material, directing truck traffic during peak periods, lifting construction supplies such as lumber and concrete mix, and separating recyclable items like metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Collect windblown paper and debris manually using large trash bags. • Operate a mobile vacuum attached to a tractor to remove loose refuse. • Direct landfill truck traffic with verbal commands and hand signals. • Lift and transport construction materials such as lumber and concrete mix. • Separate metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Maintain required licenses for applicable regulatory agencies. • Meet physical demands of outdoor work, including lifting and walking.
