About the Role
As an Estimator I, you will support the bid process, analyze documentation to determine labor, material, and equipment costs, and collaborate with clients, engineers, and consultants during pre‑bid activities. The position also involves preparing technical proposals, post‑bid work plans, and contributing to production tracking and post‑job analysis. • Organize and manage bid processes with the Estimating Manager • Analyze bid documents to quantify labor, material, and equipment costs • Attend pre‑bid meetings and site visits, building relationships with stakeholders • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain cost information • Prepare technical proposals and presentation materials • Develop post‑bid work plans, procurement schedules, and cost‑control measures • Participate in production tracking and post‑project analysis • Maintain a database of historical estimates and project records

What You Bring
The role is an on‑site position, Monday through Friday, located in Evansville, Indiana. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship, and staffing agencies will not be considered. The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management and bring at least two years of experience in heavy civil, mining, or related construction fields. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, civil estimating software such as HCSS, and scheduling tools like Primavera P6 is required, along with strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities. The role demands the ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and drawings, work effectively within a team, manage multiple tasks under tight timelines, and travel occasionally for overnight site visits, including underground environments. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management • Possess 2+ years experience in heavy civil, mining, or construction environments • Experience in field engineering, estimating, scheduling, and technical writing • Proficient with Microsoft Office, HCSS estimating software, and Primavera P6 • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and problem‑solving skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently within firm timelines • Skilled at reading contracts, specifications, and construction drawings • Detail‑oriented with strong time‑management and organizational capabilities • Comfortable working in team settings and visiting underground sites • Willing to travel overnight on an infrequent basis
