About the Role

You will provide leadership and guidance to the construction and project management department, develop processes that ensure projects are completed from start to finish, and directly supervise construction supervisors, managers, and project managers to deliver designs on budget, safely, with quality, and on schedule. Additional duties include resolving project disputes, coordinating with support and back‑office teams for compliance and financial reporting, preparing weekly revenue and cost reports, and managing material, equipment, and production costs. You will prioritize projects based on customer needs, evaluate employee performance, and foster career development while driving a safety culture that meets SSO, MVI, TRIR, and DART metrics. • Lead construction and project management teams across the Knoxville market. • Develop and implement processes to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and safely. • Oversee construction supervisors, managers, and project managers to guarantee design compliance and quality. • Resolve project disputes through negotiation and coordination with stakeholders. • Prepare weekly revenue and cost reports and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines. • Manage material, equipment, and production costs, schedules, and performance metrics. • Prioritize projects based on customer needs and resource availability. • Evaluate employee performance, assign jobs, and foster career development within the telecom industry. • Interface with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to identify growth opportunities. • Drive a safety culture meeting SSO, MVI, TRIR, and DART targets.

What You Bring

MasTec is looking for an experienced OSP Wireline Telecom General Manager to lead operations across the greater Knoxville market in East Tennessee. The role oversees all Outside Plant construction activities—including underground, aerial, and splicing work—within Telco, CATV, and FTTH environments. You will be accountable for market P&L performance and provide leadership to managers and shop personnel. Comcast experience is a huge plus. The ideal candidate tracks work with a high level of quality, enjoys solving hard problems, and makes safety a daily priority. At least five years of progressively challenging leadership experience in telecom construction, strong coaching and mentoring abilities, and a hands‑on approach are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, the ability to learn custom software, and a basic understanding of accounting principles are also needed. • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in telecom construction. • Strong problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on work approach. • Commitment to safety and ability to track work quality. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to custom software. • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
