About the Role
• Provide planning, design, and coordination support on healthcare projects of varying scale and complexity. • Prepare architectural drawings, diagrams, test fits, and space plans using CAD and BIM tools. • Translate user group input and clinical requirements into architectural layouts under senior planner guidance. • Participate in and lead portions of user group meetings and planning workshops. • Coordinate planning information with architectural, engineering, and project management teams. • Research and apply Canadian healthcare facility guidelines, standards, and best practices. • Assist in preparing reports, presentation materials, and planning documentation.

What You Bring
The Healthcare Planner 2 position supports the planning and design of healthcare facilities as part of an integrated architectural team. This role is suited for an architectural professional with developing healthcare experience who can translate clinical and operational needs into clear, buildable planning solutions while working with increasing independence. Candidates who hold a Master’s degree in Architecture and have at least six years of experience in the healthcare A/E industry—including three years as a health planner—are preferred. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field, a minimum of three years of A/E experience, strong organizational and design‑technical skills, and a commitment to active participation in our employee‑owned culture. • Apply functional planning principles; functional programming knowledge is a plus. • Master’s degree in Architecture. • Minimum 6 years experience in healthcare A/E, including 3 years as a health planner. • Ability to independently develop architectural test fits and space plans. • Proficiency with BIM software such as Revit. • Excellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skills. • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. • Familiarity with Canadian healthcare standards (CSA Z8000) and building codes. • Experience in user group meetings or stakeholder engagement. • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field. • Minimum 3 years experience in A/E industry. • Strong organizational skills. • Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles for precise technical plans. • Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and flexible. • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
