About the Role

You will review construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents and record findings in Field Observation Reports. You will coordinate on‑site structural work with the architectural Contract Administrator and other discipline leads, manage submittals, monitor testing agencies, respond to RFIs, and prepare Site Instructions and Construction Bulletins. Additional duties include reviewing structural claims, participating in constructability reviews, liaising with PSPC and other stakeholders, and escalating potential project risks to the Senior Contract Administrator. • Review construction activities and document findings in Field Observation Reports. • Coordinate on‑site structural work with architectural and discipline leads. • Manage submittals and ensure timely review and return. • Monitor independent testing and inspection agencies for compliance. • Prepare Site Instructions and Construction Bulletins to guide field decisions. • Review structural claims and support dispute resolution processes. • Participate in constructability reviews to identify risks and improvements. • Liaise with PSPC, construction manager, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. • Escalate identified project risks to the Senior Contract Administrator.

What You Bring

The role requires an undergraduate degree or college diploma in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering; a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is desirable. Candidates need a minimum of five years’ experience as a structural Contract Administrator on large building projects, with heritage or fast‑tracked project experience considered an asset. Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and CSA standards for steel, concrete, and masonry is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and preferably Revit. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required, and French language ability is an asset. Eligibility for Federal Government Enhanced Reliability Clearance, requiring five years of Canadian residency, is also required. • Respond to RFIs with clear, precise answers aligned with structural intent. • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in civil/structural engineering (P.Eng. designation desirable). • Minimum 5 years experience as a structural Contract Administrator on large building projects. • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and CSA steel, concrete, and masonry standards. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; Revit experience a plus. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; French language proficiency an asset. • Eligibility for Federal Government Enhanced Reliability Clearance (5 years Canadian residency).
