About the Role
The Tower Technician I installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. The role includes climbing towers, erecting various tower types, off‑loading material, preparing sites, and installing carriers, antennas, and transmission lines. The technician also assists with tower erection using cranes, helicopters, and gin poles, and performs foundation, grounding, and conduit work. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Climb towers and ladders of various heights. • Erect different tower types and assist with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole operations. • Off‑load material, manage inventory, and prepare/clean sites. • Install new carriers on new‑build and existing towers. • Assemble monopole, weld, knock‑down self‑support, and guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and waveguide. • Perform foundation, grounding, conduit, and related electrical installations.

What You Bring

Strong communication and the ability to read and follow printed instructions are essential. • Demonstrated commitment to safety and high‑quality workmanship. • Ability to solve complex problems with a hands‑on approach. • High School diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of experience. • Ability to read and follow printed instructions. • Working knowledge of OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, and ANSI standards. • NWSA certification preferred. • Physically capable of climbing towers, lifting 50 lb, and working up to 12 hours. • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. • Willingness to work weekends, nights, extreme weather, and travel extensively. • Ability to work away from home as required.
