About the Role
Your Role As a Gensler Project Accountant, you will manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects from contract review and billing setup to invoicing, reporting and accounts receivable. You will be successful in this role because you are highly organized, detail‑oriented and passionate about ensuring the financial health of projects. Working in close partnership with Design Managers and project teams, you will help ensure our work is not only exceptional in design, but also financially sound. You will review project contracts, establish billing terms, interpret financial data, and collaborate with Design Managers, clients, and consultants on billing issues. You will prepare and process invoices, manage sub‑consultant purchase orders through Coupa, track reimbursable expenses, and follow up on accounts receivable. Additionally, you will maintain project budgets, generate financial reports, prepare journal entries, reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, and support ad‑hoc financial analysis. • Review contracts and establish billing terms and invoice formats. • Interpret and communicate financial data from contracts and billings. • Collaborate with Design Managers, clients, and consultants on billing issues. • Prepare, process, and issue invoices according to contractual terms and monthly deadlines. • Manage sub‑consultant purchase orders and invoicing through Coupa. • Maintain and monitor project budgets, backlogs, and financial health reports. • Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts. • Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and support cross‑functional team projects.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has at least two years of project‑accounting experience and an Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, business management or a related field. Experience with international currencies, VAT, and the architectural or engineering professional‑services industry is preferred, as are strong verbal communication skills and high accuracy. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Deltek or Coupa are a plus, and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively is essential. • Possess 2+ years of project‑accounting experience and an Associate’s degree in finance or related field. • Experience with international currencies, exchange rates, VAT, and architectural/engineering firms. • Strong organizational, detail‑orientation, verbal communication, and Excel skills; familiarity with Deltek or Coupa a plus.
