Principal, Product Owner

About the Role

As a Product Owner in the Commercial organization, you will be a member of an Agile Delivery Team (ADT) responsible for maximizing value by aligning the team backlog with customer and stakeholder needs. You may own multiple high‑business‑value products that span functional areas, using strategic judgment to prioritize work and guide the product roadmap. At the team level you will communicate priorities, provide feedback, and help remove impediments to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives. • Partner with business sponsors and leaders to shape product vision, manage backlog, prioritize features, and communicate needs • Write project specifications and user stories in collaboration with Business Analysts • Support Agile ceremonies such as Portfolio Planning, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, and Release Planning • Provide context to the ADT to build solutions aligned with current and future business needs; regularly report progress and business value • Remove impediments by gathering information from stakeholders and escalating issues to Scrum Master or business lead

What You Bring

The position is fully remote for candidates residing in the United States and working on a corporate day‑shift aligned with Eastern or Central Standard Time. Occasional travel is required for in‑person meetings, trainings, and other key events. • Travel as necessary for business meetings, trainings, and team events • Four‑year degree (or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree) and at least 8 years of relevant experience • 3+ years experience as founder, entrepreneur‑in‑residence, product owner, or similar role • Experience with Agile software development, specifically Scrum framework • Ability to review and work with design assets; product experience with cloud‑based systems • Technical background developing software or working in a technical environment • Knowledge across product management, operations, engineering, UX/UI, sales, support, finance or marketing; understanding of go‑to‑market commerce enablers • Proven ability to achieve strategic goals, evolve product strategy using research, data, and industry trends; strong problem‑solving, organizational, and analytical skills • Track record of defining and launching a product or large capability to market • Experience developing requirements, business processes, opportunity assessments, and technical alternatives • Experience with Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics • Prior role on an Agile team as Product Owner, Scrum Master, or Business Analyst • Background in the commercial energy sector • Technical degree in computer science • Master’s degree in science or business
