About the Role

As a member of the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions team you will be responsible for cleaning a designated zone with a focus on quality control, health and safety, and exceeding client expectations. You will report to the Manager or Supervisor and may be assigned various tasks based on client needs and operational priorities. • Sweep, scrub, vacuum and mop hard‑surface floors; polish, strip and finish as needed. • Operate handheld or automatic floor scrubbers, steam cleaners, and carpet shampooers. • Transport garbage, cleaning supplies, and maintenance machinery between locations. • Clean glass surfaces, washroom floors, stairwells, and elevator cabs using ladders or scaffolding. • Load, unload and replenish cleaning solutions and equipment. • Follow chemical and equipment safety procedures to protect floors and fixtures. • Report needed repairs or system additions to management. • Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas using plows, blowers or melting chemicals. • Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in institutional settings using floor maintenance machines. • Lift, push, pull heavy items and climb ladders; occasionally lift up to 25 lb. • Maintain cooperative relationships with staff, clients and the public. • Work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays and multiple locations. • Follow verbal and written instructions; maintain manual and electronic records.

What You Bring

The role requires experience in institutional cleaning, familiarity with floor maintenance equipment, and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations including WHMIS. Physical ability to lift, push, pull heavy items, climb ladders and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds is essential, as are strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to work weekends, holidays and multiple locations. • Apply knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS and safety protocols. • Hold a valid Class G driver’s license and meet security clearance requirements where applicable.
