About the Role
An Industrial Pipe Fitter assembles, lays out, installs, and maintains pipe systems for steam, fluid, or gas applications. Work may involve pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangers, and angles in buildings, outdoors, tanks, boilers, underground excavations, and heights up to 300 ft. The role has no direct reports but may oversee helpers and laborers, providing expertise and guidance as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals to determine scope, materials, and procedures. • Identify and gather all tools and equipment needed for each task. • Assess safety risks and implement precautions to eliminate hazards. • Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe systems according to specifications. • Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges as per plans. • Perform tests to verify quality and integrity of piping systems. • Hoist loads using appropriate rigging equipment. • Oversee helpers and laborers as needed, providing expertise and guidance. • Maintain a full set of standard pipe‑fitting hand tools and appropriate personal protective equipment.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least four years of experience as an industrial pipe fitter or helper, be able to read and interpret prints, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. Experience on industrial construction projects is required. Required qualifications include a demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance background, ability to read technical manuals and blueprints, knowledge of pipe‑fitting processes for combined‑cycle power plant systems, and strong problem‑solving, manual dexterity, and teamwork abilities. Preferred qualifications are Zachry ROF‑ed or former employee status, NCCER certification, and formal technical education. Physical demands involve extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lb, as well as occasional work at heights up to 300 ft with proper fall protection. Employees must operate in various weather conditions for up to 12 hours a day and wear required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel‑toe boots. • Minimum 4 years experience as an industrial pipe fitter or helper. • Proven ability to read prints and understand pipe‑fitting procedures. • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision. • Preferred: Zachry ROF‑ed or former employee, NCCER certification, formal technical education.
