About the Role

The primary function of this role is to promote and sell Johnson Controls’ value proposition to the new construction market through electrical/general contractors and consulting engineers, delivering fire and life‑safety solutions. The incumbent will manage the entire sales process—from uncovering opportunities and developing solutions, to preparing designs, negotiating contracts, closing deals, and providing ongoing customer service. Key responsibilities include establishing contact with prospects, qualifying buyers, developing territory sales plans, maintaining an accurate sales pipeline, and allocating time to meet or exceed quota. The role also involves conducting seminars, demonstrations, trade‑show participation, and maintaining established accounts to drive follow‑on sales. • Promote and sell Johnson Controls solutions to the construction market via electrical/general contractors and consulting engineers. • Manage the full sales cycle: identify opportunities, develop proposals, negotiate contracts, close deals, and provide post‑sale service. • Develop and maintain a sales pipeline and territory plan to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual quota targets. • Conduct seminars, product demonstrations, and participate in trade shows to generate and qualify leads. • Maintain established accounts and pursue follow‑on sales to increase revenue.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least three years of successful sales experience in the building construction industry, preferably working with electrical contractors and able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and closing skills are required, along with self‑motivation and solid organizational abilities. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of fire alarm or security systems, proficiency with Windows applications, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or equivalent. These skills enable effective engagement with technical audiences and decision‑makers. • Minimum 3 years of successful sales experience in the building construction industry; experience with electrical contractors and blueprint reading preferred. • Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and closing skills; self‑motivated and organized. • Preferred knowledge of fire alarm or security systems; computer literate with Windows applications; valid driver’s license; high school diploma or equivalent.
