About the Role

The senior document controller role sits at the centre of information flow across a diverse portfolio of engineering projects, from fast‑turnaround assignments to large capital projects. In this contract position, based out of our Edmonton, AB office, you will leverage document‑control expertise and systems knowledge to keep multidisciplinary teams aligned, clients informed, and projects moving forward in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment. You will lead document‑control activities across multiple concurrent engineering, EPC/EPCM and construction projects, ensuring information is accurate, current and accessible. Your responsibilities will include configuring document‑control platforms, maintaining structured numbering and metadata, processing transmittals, responding to queries, performing quality checks, safeguarding version integrity, and mentoring junior team members. • Lead document control across multiple engineering, EPC/EPCM and construction projects, ensuring accurate, current, and accessible information. • Configure and maintain project document control environments in InEight, Aconex, SharePoint, and BIM 360, customizing workspaces to client needs. • Manage document numbering, metadata, workflows, and revision control for quick retrieval and trust. • Process transmittals, submissions, reviews and approvals rapidly to meet tight timelines. • Respond to internal and external document queries, providing guidance on standards and best practices. • Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing documentation against templates and naming conventions. • Track revisions, manage superseded documents, and support document‑related audits. • Switch seamlessly between priorities, pausing one assignment and transitioning to another as project demands change. • Mentor junior document controllers and project team members to elevate document control practices.

What You Bring

We are looking for professionals with 5–10+ years of hands‑on document‑control experience in engineering or related industries, a proven track record managing multidiscipline documents, and strong proficiency with tools such as InEight, Aconex, SharePoint and BIM 360. An exceptional eye for detail, the ability to work remotely with proactive communication, agility to juggle priorities, and experience coaching others are essential, while knowledge of ISO standards is an advantage.
