About the Role
The Project Manager will ensure successful execution of assigned rail projects, including planning, quality assurance, meeting deadlines, and managing financial aspects. They will plan, design, and direct projects such as new or rehabilitated bridges, culverts, and site work serving Class 1, short line, passenger, and freight railroads, and assist the Department Manager with all rail engineering products. The role also includes acting as the client manager, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, supervising staff, and performing occasional field work and bridge inspections. • Ensure project planning, quality assurance, deadline adherence, and financial management. • Design and direct new or rehabilitated bridges, culverts, and related site work for various rail sectors. • Serve as client manager, prepare proposals, and negotiate contract terms. • Supervise staff, set goals, evaluate performance, and support professional development. • Perform occasional field work and bridge inspections.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering and a PE license, with at least ten years of railroad bridge engineering and project management experience, preferably in Class 1 and short line freight environments. Experience in business development, client relations, and mentoring staff is highly preferred, along with strong analytical, judgment, and communication skills. Applicants must be able to meet 49 CFR Part 219 drug and alcohol testing requirements, possess a valid driver’s license, and be proficient in English. • Hold a B.S. in civil or structural engineering and a PE license. • Minimum 10 years of railroad bridge engineering and project management experience. • Experience with Class 1 and short line freight railroads; business development and client relations preferred. • Strong analytical, judgment, and communication skills; meet 49 CFR Part 219 testing requirements. • Valid driver’s license and proficiency in English.
