About the Role
Under general supervision, the incumbent will collect and analyze data from site surveys, blueprints, schematics, and computer‑generated reports to aid project development and design. Tasks include researching and inspecting existing and proposed conditions, performing basic load calculations, and providing technical input on equipment installation and operating strategies. The engineer will also generate accurate specifications and field logs using electronic systems and adhere to safety and company policies. • Provide technical assistance for design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems in infrastructure and building projects. • Collect and analyze data from site surveys, blueprints, schematics, and engineering reports. • Conduct research and inspections of existing and proposed conditions to ensure code and permit compliance. • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and support installation and operation strategies. • Generate accurate documentation, specifications, and field logs using electronic tools. • Follow safety guidelines, site procedures, and WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Complete assigned training and support additional business needs.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline and have up to one year of post‑graduation experience. Required skills include strong research and analytical abilities, familiarity with mechanical design and construction codes, effective communication with both engineering and non‑engineering audiences, and proficiency in technical writing, Office software, and AutoCAD/CAM. The role demands attention to detail, self‑leadership, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a commitment to safety and ethical decision‑making. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. • 0–1 year post‑graduation experience. • Strong research and analytical skills. • Familiarity with mechanical design/build processes and relevant codes. • Effective communication with technical and non‑technical audiences. • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi‑task, and work independently or in a team. • Proficiency with technical writing, Office software, spreadsheets, and AutoCAD/CAM. • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred). • Prior engineering internship experience (preferred). • Membership or active participation in local professional societies (preferred).
