About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and shape the RDE portfolio for the Embedded Hardware team within Embedded Controls of ES EMEA. The role will be responsible for implementing strategies focused on hardware development and verification & validation for Life Safety, Energy Solutions, and Power Management & Control Components divisions, while building synergies across product lines and supporting digital strategies. The manager will also be accountable for new product introduction (NPI), new technology introduction (NTI), and sustenance projects. The manager will build organization capabilities through hiring, development plans, and coaching for firmware and software engineers, providing leadership to innovative and intelligent product development. They will define strategic roadmaps, manage diverse product teams across multiple locations, and leverage the EIIC Lab and prototype infrastructure to accelerate key NPI/NTI launches. Budget management, forecasting, and performance tracking are also essential responsibilities. People management duties include recruiting, retaining, and developing engineering talent, providing mentorship, and creating a culture of high employee engagement and innovation. The manager will develop and control project schedules, monitor progress, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business needs. • Lead the embedded hardware RDE portfolio and drive hardware development/V&V for Life Safety, Energy Solutions, and Power Management products. • Define and execute strategic roadmaps for NPI, NTI, and sustenance projects across multiple locations. • Build and mentor high‑performing firmware and software engineering teams, including hiring and development plans. • Leverage EIIC Lab and prototype infrastructure to accelerate product launches. • Manage department budget, forecasts, and performance metrics. • Foster synergies across product lines and support digital transformation initiatives. • Drive innovation events, technology roadmaps, and patent disclosures for embedded products. • Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements for PLC, LS, contactors, and MVPD. • Recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent while promoting employee engagement and a culture of innovation.

What You Bring
A strong technical background is required, including understanding of electrical, electronics, and mechanical design for programmable logic controllers (PLC), Life Safety (LS), contactors, and medium‑voltage power distribution (MVPD). The manager will drive innovation events, technology roadmaps, and patent disclosures, fostering growth in embedded and software design capabilities and adjacent technology areas. Qualifications include a BE/ME in Electronics or E&TC Engineering, 15+ years of design experience with embedded systems, and at least 5 years of coaching and mentoring experience. Candidates should have hands‑on experience with DfX methodologies, software engineering best practices, and proven leadership in all stages of the product development cycle. • Required: BE/ME in Electronics or E&TC, 15+ years embedded systems design, 5+ years coaching/mentoring, DfX expertise, strong software engineering knowledge, proven leadership in product development cycles.
