About the Role

You’ll respond to network faults, complete routine maintenance and reinstatement works, and engage directly with customers and stakeholders. You’ll also participate in a standby and call‑out roster and support incident and emergency response as required. Working closely with your supervisor, team members, subcontractors and council representatives, you’ll ensure work meets contract requirements and Downer standard operating procedures. Accurate field reporting, strong communication, and a commitment to Zero Harm are essential.

What You Bring

We’re seeking a Water Serviceperson to support operations and maintenance across local water networks. This hands‑on, varied role focuses on keeping critical infrastructure operating safely and reliably. This position suits someone who enjoys practical work, takes ownership of outcomes and values teamwork, safety and service delivery. • Experience maintaining urban and rural water reticulation networks. • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities. • Confidence in dealing with the public and responding to service requests. • Ability to accurately complete field reporting using mobile devices. • Full Class 1 licence (Class 2, RTW, traffic management and confined spaces training advantageous). • Self‑motivated, reliable, and comfortable working in a field‑based role supporting the community.
