What You Bring

We are seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to lead our Civil Engineering Department based out of Jacksonville, FL, with relocation provided for out‑of‑area candidates. As a senior leader, you will oversee the strategic and technical direction of the firm's civil engineering practice for DoD projects. The role requires deep expertise in DoD design standards, interdisciplinary coordination, and the ability to grow a team serving U.S. military clients in line with our mission, vision, and values. Education and experience required include a bachelor's degree in civil engineering (master's preferred) and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Candidates should have 15+ years of civil/site design experience, preferably with DoD or military infrastructure projects. Proficiency with civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HEC‑RAS, or InfoDrainage, along with knowledge of federal procurement methods (DBB, DB, ECI) under FAR regulations, is essential; strong familiarity with federal, state, and local codes and permitting procedures is also required, and travel to job sites may be needed. All candidates must provide proof of identity and U.S. work authorization at hire, pass a drug screening, and undergo a commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check when access to a military base is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) and P.E. license • 15+ years of civil/site design experience, DoD or military projects preferred • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HEC‑RAS, InfoDrainage or similar • Knowledge of federal procurement methods (DBB, DB, ECI) and FAR regulations • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local codes and permitting • Willingness to travel to job sites as required
