About the Role
• Oversee and lead the implementation of the Zero Injury Safety Program and develop site‑specific safety plans across multiple projects. • Plan, lead, and manage safety program elements, collaborating with trade and joint‑venture partners. • Conduct and review site hazard assessments, create safety orientation content, and deliver required safety training. • Track and analyze safety statistics, trend analyses, and OSHA reports; lead improvement action plans. • Monitor onsite construction activities, document deficiencies, and manage corrective actions and incident investigations. • Collaborate with Risk Management, review project work plans, and participate in project planning and hazard analysis. • Provide mentorship to safety staff, serve as a resource for safety issues, and stay current on safety standards and regulations. • Support safety performance metrics, assist in incident response, and build relationships across diverse organizational levels.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager II to provide management, leadership, direction, and support within the company's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project teams and construction sites. The role requires up to 50% travel and is not remote. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship and must possess a valid driver’s license. The role demands strong interpersonal, communication, and public‑speaking skills, as well as the ability to travel up to 100%. • Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field, OR high school diploma with CHST, OSHA 500, and 12 years of construction experience including 7 years in a dedicated safety role. • Minimum of seven years’ experience in construction safety or equivalent. • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%. • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple project teams. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software. • Strong interpersonal, customer service, public speaking, and presentation abilities.
