About the Role
As a Digital Service Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal customer‑facing role, generating a robust sales pipeline and positioning OpenBlue Solutions and Services to both existing and new customers. Your efforts will ensure a high customer‑satisfaction index and contribute to the expansion of our digital business. You will educate and encourage existing customers to adopt digital technologies, positioning Johnson Controls as their preferred partner throughout their digital transformation journey. You will promote the OpenBlue Solutions & Services portfolio—including third‑party/partner IoT solutions—within assigned vertical markets, and develop comprehensive digital transformation roadmaps that define projects, implementation, and integration recommendations aligned with each customer’s environment. You will identify and engage key decision‑makers and influencers through relationships, networking, client references, and industry events, while formulating digital sales strategies, generating new leads, and qualifying upselling and cross‑selling opportunities. When customers require custom development, you will collaborate with technical teams to define prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts. • Generate a robust sales pipeline and position OpenBlue Solutions & Services to new and existing customers. • Educate customers on digital technologies and act as Johnson Controls' preferred transformation partner. • Promote the OpenBlue portfolio, including third‑party IoT solutions, across assigned vertical markets. • Develop and present digital transformation roadmaps with implementation and integration recommendations. • Identify and engage key decision‑makers through relationships, networking, client references, and industry events. • Formulate digital sales strategies, generate leads, and qualify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities. • Collaborate with technical teams to create prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts for customer‑specific needs.

What You Bring
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering and 5–7 years of sales experience focused on digitalization and digital services, along with familiarity with HVAC, BMS, building codes, IoT, cloud offerings, and Industry 4.0. A proven track record in delivering digital, data‑driven services—such as energy and asset performance, predictive‑maintenance analytics, fault detection, system monitoring, and building performance optimization—is essential, as is willingness and flexibility to travel. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. • Possess 5–7 years of sales experience emphasizing digitalization and digital services. • Be familiar with HVAC, BMS, building codes, IoT, cloud offerings, and Industry 4.0. • Demonstrate a proven track record delivering digital, data‑driven services such as predictive maintenance and building performance optimization.
