About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Site Supervisor, the Operator is tasked with operating, maintaining, and monitoring facility assets in a safe, reliable, and cost‑efficient manner. The role involves executing both routine and complex tasks, troubleshooting operational upsets, and supervising field activities performed by contractors, all while adhering to EnPower’s corporate values, policies, programs, processes, and operating procedures. Within field operations, the Operator follows standard and site‑specific operating and maintenance procedures defined in the EnPower Integrated Management System, ensures equipment remains within design limits, and applies the Management of Change process when issues arise. Daily and periodic mechanical and electrical inspections are performed, and the Operator coordinates detailed outage planning, system isolation, and contractor activities. The role also focuses on continuous improvement and capital‑project support by recommending measures to enhance equipment performance, lower costs, and increase reliability. This includes evaluating and refining EIMS standards, work aids, and leading investigations to resolve safety, operational, or technical incidents. People and leadership responsibilities involve representing ATCO’s core values, providing the tools, skills, and resources needed for safe and competent work, and mentoring junior operators through coaching and on‑the‑job training. • Operate, maintain, and monitor facility assets safely and cost‑efficiently. • Embed HSSEQ policies into all field work through planning, inspections, and safety leadership. • Conduct daily mechanical and electrical inspections and follow Management of Change procedures. • Lead outage planning, coordinate system isolation, and oversee contractor field activities. • Recommend improvements to equipment performance, reliability, and cost reduction. • Assess and enhance EIMS standards, processes, and work aids. • Mentor and train junior operators while upholding ATCO core values. • Fulfill commercial obligations and ensure compliance with AESO and ABSA requirements. • Maintain strong relationships with landowners, service providers, and customers.

What You Bring
Customer‑related duties require understanding and meeting commercial obligations, communicating AESO and ABSA requirements, and maintaining positive relationships with landowners, service providers, and customers. The position is based in Beaverlodge, Elmworth, or Grande Prairie. • Hold a Journeyperson Mechanic or Millwright certification with 2–4 years plant operations experience. • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, time‑management, and computer skills. • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
