About the Role

• Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite. • Assist project management in developing and executing site‑specific safety programs. • Conduct safety orientations, training sessions, and work‑area safety audits. • Document, track, and analyze safety violations, injuries, and hazard statistics. • Perform leading and trailing indicator data collection, trend analysis, and major incident analysis. • Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements. • Utilize a no‑cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work‑life resources.

What You Bring

Mortenson seeks a passionate Safety Engineer II to work across all staff levels in a dynamic environment, maintaining flexibility, resourcefulness, proactivity, efficiency, professionalism, and confidentiality. The engineer will implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program at project sites, ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field, or possess a high school diploma with STS/CHST certification, OSHA 30‑hour training, and 7+ years of construction safety leadership experience. • Demonstrate at least one year of related experience, detail‑orientation, and ability to manage multiple project tasks. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety‑related software applications. • Exhibit strong communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, leadership, and public‑speaking abilities. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 100% as required.
