About the Role
The Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and delivering prompt, courteous waste‑removal services to customers. The role also requires ensuring the vehicle meets the company’s safety standards, adhering to all company, state and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. Key duties include performing thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls, and reporting any issues. Drivers must follow the route sheet, operate manual or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, run the compactor, and dispose of material at the designated facility while maintaining professional interactions with customers and dispatchers. They also tag unsatisfactory containers, clean accidental spills, monitor vehicle condition, clean waste from the packer blade and truck body, and complete required productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports to meet departmental productivity standards.
