About the Role
The Maintenance Technician B works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. Responsibilities include work on chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical and air‑brake systems, as well as engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. The role may also involve basic tire services such as replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks, and provides an opportunity to work on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles. Key duties include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and air‑brake components. The technician repairs engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC units, conducts line welding and fabrication, and delivers safe road service when needed. Fault diagnosis is performed using electronic tools, and all required company training is completed. • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic, electrical, and air‑brake systems. • Repair engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC units, and conduct line welding and fabrication. • Provide safe road service and emergency repairs to return equipment to operation quickly. • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools and document findings. • Conduct basic tire work, including replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks. • Adhere to work‑order labor standards and accurately record service activities.

What You Bring
Applicants should have at least one year of experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or be graduating from an accredited automotive or technical program within three months. A valid driver’s license is required; ASE certifications (T1‑T8) and a commercial driver’s license are desirable. Understanding of work‑order labor standards and basic knowledge of heavy‑truck systems is expected. • Complete required company training and maintain proficiency in vehicle systems. • Hold a valid driver’s license; ASE certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous. • Meet a minimum of one year of relevant experience or recent graduation from an automotive technical program.
