About the Role

The Floor Technician (2nd Shift) works Sunday through Thursday, with shifts from 5 pm to 1:30 am, plus a Sunday 10 am to 6:30 pm shift. The role involves performing skilled painting and cleaning functions for commercial and industrial facilities, often working independently while collaborating with other trades on projects, repairs, maintenance, upgrades, remodels, and emergencies. Key interior duties include emptying waste receptacles, removing debris and trash, vacuuming and shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, restocking and cleaning restrooms, washing walls, polishing and mopping floors, placing mats or runners during inclement weather, cleaning spills, and maintaining windows and window coverings according to established procedures. Exterior responsibilities may involve cleaning building façades, windows, parking lots, walkways, gardens, lawns, outdoor furnishings, pools, fountains, curbs, gutters, hallways, and stairwells, as well as performing basic maintenance such as minor painting, light‑bulb replacement, window repairs, door and gate adjustments, simple plumbing fixes, and landscaping upkeep. Additional tasks can include assisting with inventory control, supply ordering, snow removal (including salting and sanding), and supporting tenant moves. The technician must promptly notify management of spills, safety hazards, equipment failures, or any conditions that could affect building operations. • Clean interior spaces, including floors, carpets, furniture, restrooms, and windows. • Empty waste receptacles and remove trash and debris. • Vacuum, shampoo, mop, and polish floors according to procedures. • Place mats or runners and clean up spills promptly. • Maintain exterior surfaces such as walls, windows, parking lots, walkways, and landscaping. • Perform minor maintenance tasks like light‑bulb replacement, painting, and simple repairs. • Assist with inventory control, supply ordering, and tenant move‑ins/outs. • Conduct snow removal, salting, and sanding as needed. • Report spills, safety hazards, equipment failures, and building issues to management. • Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely, following all safety protocols. • Work evenings or weekends on call and respond to emergency situations. • Lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 25 lb regularly.

What You Bring

Competencies required are knowledge of safe cleaning‑agent usage, willingness to work evenings or weekends on call, reliability, thoroughness, observation skills, organization, flexibility, courteousness, effective listening, teamwork, and the ability to follow written or verbal instructions. Basic mechanical knowledge and prior cleaning experience are preferred. Applicants need a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical/vocational training, along with some related work experience. The position operates in a professional office environment but regularly requires travel between properties in varied weather conditions. Physical demands include frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 25 lb. The employee may be stationary for up to 85 % of the shift, must travel up to 5 % of the time, and must adhere to safety protocols while using equipment such as vacuums, electric polishers, power tools, and cleaning chemicals. • Possess a high school diploma or GED; cleaning experience preferred. • Demonstrate reliability, organization, teamwork, and strong observational skills.
