About the Role

The IM&E Technician maintains and repairs all electrical systems, instrumentation, controls and equipment at Vicinity’s Baltimore sites. This full‑time, non‑exempt union position reports to the Maintenance Manager and offers a wage of $43.47 per hour plus a 10 % bonus target. • Maintain safe work conditions and report hazards. • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and LOTO procedures. • Service control equipment for boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps and related systems. • Perform cleaning, inspection, testing, repair and calibration of electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls (e.g., temperature/pressure instruments, flow transmitters, solenoids, control valves). • Repair and modify control circuitry using technical data and schematics. • Install, program, and calibrate electronic instruments, sensors, wiring, tubing and fittings. • Test, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical power supply circuits, motors, circuit breakers and transformers. • Create and update diagrams, drawings and plans for plant electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls. • Write work orders, perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document maintenance activities. • Work mandatory overtime, rotating shifts and on‑call weekends/holidays as assigned. • Transfer seasonally to other departments when needed.

What You Bring

Applicants need a technical or trade‑school degree in electronics, computer science or equivalent, and at least two years of progressive maintenance experience in a central plant or power‑generation environment. Preferred qualifications include strong knowledge of electrical safety and LOTO, ability to read logic diagrams, P&IDs and technical manuals, and familiarity with refrigeration and thermodynamics. Additional qualifications are the ability to work with minimal supervision and basic computer and email skills. The role requires completion of a company‑provided pre‑employment physical exam and drug screening, a valid driver’s license in good standing, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb, work in confined spaces, climb heights up to 100 ft, and tolerate heat in an industrial plant environment. • Operate hand and power tools competently.
