About the Role

• Responsible for electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under senior staff guidance • Collaborate with Project Engineer and Project Manager to develop design schedules and budgets • Design Solar PV/BESS systems: array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, utility interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground‑mount installations • Model solar PV and BESS system energy production • Develop construction and equipment specifications • Perform engineering calculations: NEC maximum system voltage, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection, utility disconnect requirements, voltage drop, conduit sizing • Create and support construction drawings, including one‑lines and network diagrams • Estimate PV and BESS system costs and evaluate payback • Support projects through full life‑cycle: feasibility, preliminary and detailed design, issue‑for‑bid, construction, start‑up, commissioning • Participate in and present at meetings, with occasional travel requirements

What You Bring

We have an Electrical Engineer position available within our US Energy Practice, offering the flexibility to work remotely or from one of several Energy offices across the United States. The role supports renewable projects ranging from commercial and industrial installations to utility‑scale systems, with a focus on solar photovoltaics, battery energy storage, interconnection, wind repowering, fuel cells, and new site development. Candidates with BESS experience and a strong power‑engineering background will help promote our capabilities to new clients while maintaining existing relationships. • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university with at least 4 years of relevant experience • Minimum of 4 years designing and integrating utility‑scale renewable and battery storage systems • Current professional engineering license (PE) with ability to obtain additional state licenses • 8+ years of relevant experience preferred • Proficient with industry software such as Homer, NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope • Experience in MV AC collection system design • Background in protection and controls • Skilled in power system modeling using ETAP and/or SKM • Strong familiarity with NEC and related codes (IBC, NFPA 855) • Knowledge of utility practices and industry standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP, etc.) • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to lead engineering tasks • Experience on full EPC or Design/Build projects from start to finish • Capable of system financial estimation (Capex, Opex), PPA recommendation and ROI calculation • Special design experience with floating PV, fuel cells, agrivoltaics, supercapacitors, etc. • Field construction and commissioning experience

Benefits

The position is based in Atlanta, GA, offers a hybrid work model and a compensation range of $100,000‑$135,000 per year.
