About the Role

The position focuses on engineering design and drawing sets for power monitoring and control systems. It involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to determine system operation requirements and to assist in the design of electrical control panels. The role also includes specifying and procuring necessary hardware and software, providing occasional project start‑up services, troubleshooting, and training for commissioned systems, as well as programming PLC applications and developing HMI interfaces. • Create engineering design and drawing sets for power monitoring and control systems. • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to define system operation requirements. • Assist in designing electrical control panels and specify/procure hardware and software. • Provide project start‑up services, troubleshooting, and training for commissioned systems. • Program PLC applications and develop HMI interfaces.

What You Bring

The position is preferred for candidates located in Nashville, with up to 15% travel to domestic and occasional international customer sites. Candidates must be able to obtain any required security clearances, such as Homeland Security clearance or background and credit checks, to work on customer premises. Required qualifications are a BS in Electrical Engineering and at least three years of professional experience. Candidates must have knowledge of computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware, as well as familiarity with industry‑standard communication protocols like Modbus TCP and BACnet. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop network diagrams and enclosure drawings are essential. Desired qualifications include experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) or Building Management Systems (BMS), system integration of multi‑vendor devices, low and medium voltage switchgear, control panel design, PLC programming and troubleshooting, and HMI screen development. Additional knowledge of programming languages (VB, C#, C++, JavaScript), database design (SQL), and HTML development is advantageous. • Travel up to 15% to domestic and occasional international customer sites; obtain required security clearances. • Hold a BS in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of professional experience. • Knowledge of computer networking architectures, topologies, hardware, and protocols such as Modbus TCP or BACnet. • Develop network diagrams and enclosure drawings; possess strong verbal and written communication skills. • Work effectively in a team‑oriented, self‑motivated, and results‑driven environment. • Desired experience with EPMS/BMS, system integration, low/medium voltage switchgear, control panel design, PLC programming/troubleshooting, HMI screen development, emergency power generation and distribution. • Familiarity with programming languages (VB, C#, C++, JavaScript), SQL database design, and HTML development.
