About the Role

• Oversee QA organization, set vision, develop testing plans, and create roadmaps for test coverage and automation in CI/CD pipelines. • Hire and develop talent within the growing organization. • Mentor the team, foster growth, and develop technical and leadership skills. • Collaborate closely with Technical Managers, DevOps, Tech Leads, and business partners to ensure project success. • Act as a trusted member for quality strategy, test architecture, and process optimization. • Provide ongoing reporting and analysis of quality metrics. • Perform hands‑on tasks such as writing test cases, reviewing logs, and conducting manual tests. • Advocate for technical and non‑technical evolution, new tools, and best practices. • Align QA strategies with CoStar business objectives. • Participate in sprint scope definition and ensure QA is organized and resourced effectively. • Lead the team’s test automation strategy and ensure adherence. • Support the SOC 2 process as stakeholder for all quality‑related controls. • Collaborate with other QA leaders on continual improvement of testing methods and strategies. • Triage, investigate, and follow up on production defects.

What You Bring

In this highly collaborative position, the leader will partner with engineering leaders to ensure processes, tools, and output support the product roadmap and meet quality expectations. Success requires problem-solving, collaboration, and the ability to operate in a complex, large-scale environment. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and bring at least eight years of software testing experience, including five years of QA leadership and three years leading agile teams. Required skills include test automation, performance/load testing, SQL/NoSQL, JavaScript or .Net, API and UI testing, and strong communication and team-building abilities. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit university or college. • 8+ years of professional software testing experience. • 5+ years of QA lead/management experience, with at least 3 years leading agile teams. • Experience leading QA teams, navigating complex requirements, and delivering effective testing strategies. • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools. • Experience with performance and load testing frameworks and tools. • Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases. • Experience with JavaScript and/or .Net. • Understanding of modern web application development, deployment, and testing techniques. • Proficient in testing APIs and UIs. • Experience with Agile SDLC and test cycles (automation, regression, user acceptance). • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Excellent team‑building, negotiation, and consensus‑building abilities. • Ability to motivate and build high‑performing teams. • A track record of commitment to prior employers. • Experience with general troubleshooting and log analysis tools (e.g., Datadog, Kibana). • Experience defining and monitoring quality metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement. • Experience with test management tools (e.g., TFS/Azure DevOps) for tracking test progress and results. • Experience with change management processes and adapting QA strategies to evolving requirements. • Strong problem‑solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic environment. • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Certified ScrumMaster) are a plus.
