About the Role

The Continuous Improvement Manager at Hubbell will lead site‑wide initiatives to enhance the Hubbell Manufacturing System, overseeing Kaizen and Lean projects that improve material flow, labor structure, layout, maintenance and costs, thereby boosting profitability. The role is accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and people outcomes, and seeks a candidate with a proven record of Lean transformation. In this hands‑on position, the manager will drive Lean and Operational Excellence programs, apply tools such as value‑stream mapping, Hoshin planning and Kanban, and coach teams in problem‑solving and continuous‑improvement practices. Responsibilities include managing a pipeline of productivity projects, overseeing AFE processes, evaluating Lean maturity, and collaborating with leadership to ensure targets are met. • Leader in the development and sustainment of the Hubbell Manufacturing System for the site • Lead and facilitate Lean / Operational Excellence initiatives, including kaizen events and process improvement projects with the goal of reducing waste, improving flow, and increasing efficiency across production processes • Drive measurable improvements in SQDCPP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and People) • Apply advanced Lean and Six Sigma tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Hoshin planning, Root Cause Problem Solving (A3, 5-why), Visual Management, and Kanban • Champion and share Lean and Continuous Improvement best practices throughout the site • Train teams and individuals in improvement processes, optimizing floor layout and material flow using Lean concepts • Leverage asset reliability and management strategies for a robust TPM system • Identify and lead prioritization of cost‑reduction opportunities across the facility, assisting in productivity realizations and facilitating necessary AFEs • Plan, maintain, and manage a pipeline for all productivity improvement projects to exceed annual improvement goals • Facilitate the writing of Approvals for Expenditure (AFE), track and report project savings and AFE status, and monitor capital expenditures against targets • Assess current Lean maturity in departments with the goal of achieving HMS certification • Collaborate with management to fine‑tune and execute plans, providing follow‑up, coaching, and periodic reporting to leadership • Develop and implement documented procedures (SWI, LSW, SOPs, audits, quality standards, 5S assessments, Gemba walks, etc.) to improve operations and performance • Develop and deliver training in all Lean topics as needed • Coach teams through problem‑solving processes • Consistently monitor and periodically report progress and operational status to leadership • Perform hands‑on, floor‑level leadership and other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field, possess at least seven years of Lean/continuous‑improvement experience in manufacturing, and have a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred). Required skills include project management across cross‑functional teams, strong communication, analytical and leadership abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; preferred expertise includes AutoCAD, SAP, Power Platform, maintenance reliability, and Hoshin Kanri deployment. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations/Manufacturing, or related field • Minimum of seven years’ experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement within manufacturing environments • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt minimum; Black Belt preferred • Demonstrated project management experience with cross‑functional teams to improve OEE and key metrics • Experience realizing productivity savings from implemented process improvements • Strong written and oral communication skills • Strong team skills to communicate and influence all organizational levels • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities • Influential leadership capabilities • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, Planner, etc.) • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback • Strong communication and collaboration skills for training staff at all levels • Self‑starter, ambitious and comfortable working with and without direction • Proficiency in AUTOCAD (preferred) • Proficiency in SAP ERP software (preferred) • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI and Power Automate (preferred) • Proficiency in Maintenance Reliability (preferred) • Experience leading Hoshin Kanri / Strategy Deployment at the plant/site level (preferred)
