About the Role
The Fire Alarm Engineer leads fire alarm system design, delivering integrated solutions across projects while acting as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders. • Design fire alarm systems and coordinate with MEP disciplines. • Serve as the primary technical liaison with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. • Manage CAD and technical staff. • Participate in employee performance reviews. • Write engineering proposals and deliver presentations at trade organizations. • Support business development by nurturing client relationships and attending industry events. • Design VESDA, Clean Agent, and fire alarm systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, critical, and storage facilities. • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, ICC building codes, and perform fire‑life‑safety commissioning. • Travel to project locations as required.

Preferred credentials include NICET certification and a Professional Engineer license, and proficiency with industry‑standard design software is required. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in fire protection or a related engineering discipline. • Possess 2–7 years of fire alarm system design experience. • Maintain strong knowledge of NFPA standards and ICC codes. • NICET certification in fire alarm systems (preferred). • Licensed Professional Engineer in fire protection (preferred). • Obtain federal security clearance. • Use AutoCAD and Revit for design development. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and relationship‑building skills.
