Welder

About the Role

Welder Laborers assist with cutting, grinding, deburring, and cleaning metal surfaces, load and transport materials, and measure and position components for welders. They also set up and dismantle welding equipment, maintain tools and consumables, and may perform basic tack welding or simple fabrication under supervision. • Prepare metal surfaces by cutting, grinding, deburring, and cleaning • Load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts, hoists, or hand trucks • Measure, mark, and position materials for welding • Set up and dismantle welding equipment, including machines, cables, and gas cylinders • Clean and maintain welding tools such as grinders, torches, and welding guns • Monitor and replenish welding consumables like electrodes, wire, and gas • Secure parts during welding or tacking operations • Grind and brush welds to remove excess material or impurities • Operate hand and power tools as directed by the welder • Perform basic tack welding or simple fabrication tasks under supervision
