About the Role

• Consult with and guide project stakeholders and managerial staff on engineering requirements for construction and design modifications • Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs; plan and design project improvements • Set design specifications by computing engineering requirements such as water flow rates, traffic demand, and earth work balance • Plan projects based on analysis of drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data • Draft and present reports on topics such as detention and engineering due diligence • Perform calculations for materials, equipment, and labor to estimate construction costs • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure proper project progress • Work with surveyors (or direct surveying) to establish installations, reference points, grades, and elevations • Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications and standards are met • Teach and explain company methodologies to others • Apply intermediate‑level understanding of design tools and civil engineering practices • Perform fundamental design of site projects, including detention design • Participate in meetings, association memberships, and events to develop networking contacts • Execute basic design projects from start to finish as primary designer • Develop baseline knowledge of state and local regulations • Identify and solve complex problems • Deliver An Exceptional Client Experience • Build Lasting Relationships

What You Bring

The Staff Civil Engineer provides technical leadership to project teams involved in the planning, evaluation, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects. This role leads study and design phases across civil, environmental, construction, and industrial fields, interacts regularly with internal staff, clients, and occasionally with public agencies, and may manage co‑ops or interns while representing the company professionally. An intermediate level of proficiency in at least two engineering software packages is required, but a Professional Engineering license is not mandatory. • Civil Engineering degree (or related field) • Minimum two consecutive years of civil engineering experience • Public speaking ability (desired) • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools • Proficient in CAD and other design, data recording, and analysis software • Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for construction or repair of site and transportation infrastructure • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to be both creative and analytical • Extremely detail‑oriented and accurate • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally • Ability to travel to various project sites • Ability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas • Experience‑based PTO • Kleingers Academy and development training
