About the Role

The Retail Associate will manage the retail shop’s daily operations and deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and team members. The role involves creating a memorable Discovery Land Company experience for both members and employees. Key duties include assisting the Retail Manager with day‑to‑day operations, greeting guests promptly, using the point‑of‑sale system for transactions, and driving sales through relationship building and knowledge of current fashion trends. The associate will ensure store presentation standards, handle returns and special orders, answer phones, maintain cleanliness, work with the merchandiser on displays, monitor inventory and supply levels, and follow opening and closing procedures. Additional responsibilities may involve supporting Member Services, Golf Operations, and Special Events as needed. • Assist the Retail Manager with daily store operations. • Greet members and guests promptly, anticipate needs, and provide urgent service. • Process sales, returns, and special orders using the POS system. • Drive sales by building relationships and staying updated on fashion trends and promotions. • Maintain store presentation: tidy apparel, proper tagging, and clean floor. • Collaborate with the merchandiser to rotate displays and monitor inventory. • Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation and communicate supply needs. • Follow opening and closing procedures and support Member Services, Golf Operations, and Special Events.

What You Bring

Candidates should have one to three years of retail operations and customer service experience, with at least six months in hospitality or a fast‑paced, luxury service setting. Experience with point‑of‑sale systems such as Jonas or TEI, proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, and basic knowledge of boutique or private‑club retail is preferred. The role requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, flexibility to work varied hours, physical stamina for long periods of standing and lifting up to 50 pounds, and fluency in English. • 1–3 years of retail operations/customer service; 6+ months hospitality in a luxury setting. • Experience with POS systems (Jonas or TEI) and Microsoft Office applications. • Strong attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and work in various weather conditions.
