Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical

About the Role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will work with multidisciplinary teams across the full project lifecycle—from concept development, through drawings and specifications, to report preparation, equipment sizing, selection and construction support. The position focuses on detailed designs, plans, specifications and estimates for Data Centre and mission‑critical facilities. • Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design. • Produce detailed and installation design of complete electrical systems for Data Centres/Mission Critical projects. • Ensure technical compliance and consistent quality across design projects and reports; conduct regular in‑house design reviews. • Motivate and manage staff, set objectives, monitor performance, coach and develop team members. • Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects. • Apply Company Health and Safety standards and ensure designs meet CDM regulations. • Adhere to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is a competent, experienced designer who is also a self‑starter capable of managing and developing resources to meet project demands while maintaining the highest technical and regulatory standards. They will collaborate with a broader engineering team and lead high‑performing staff to achieve consistent quality. • BEng, MSc or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related field. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design, specifically for Data Centres. • Experience designing and managing projects, including coordination with other disciplines. • Broad knowledge of critical electrical systems such as MV/LV power, standby generation, UPS, earthing, fire alarm, and resilience levels. • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and 3D coordination. • Chartered Electrical Engineer (desirable). • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis. • Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, signal design, life‑safety and building management systems. • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and electrical design software.
