About the Role
The Project Manager (PM) at Pike Electric is responsible for estimating, scheduling, procurement, and overall project management of master service agreements and site‑specific distribution construction projects. The role requires establishing and maintaining positive customer relationships while providing field operations with essential contractual information to execute work safely, cost‑effectively, and on schedule. The PM is expected to develop advanced skills and work independently with minimal supervision. Under minimal supervision, the PM manages projects and master service agreements in line with Pike policies, oversees client relationships, and participates in contract negotiation, change order identification, submittal approval, and subcontractor and material procurement. The role includes effective change control, risk management, assistance with estimates and proposals, and conducting contractual meetings such as kickoffs, progress reviews, and safety briefings. Additionally, the PM provides performance feedback, prepares contract status reports, and ensures accurate monthly financial reporting and financial controls to maintain profitability and cash flow. • Oversee projects and master service agreements per Pike policies. • Build and maintain trusted client relationships. • Lead contract negotiation, change orders, submittals, and subcontractor management. • Implement change control and risk management processes. • Contribute to estimates and proposals for site-specific projects. • Conduct contractual kickoff, progress, and safety meetings. • Deliver performance feedback to operations and field managers. • Generate contract status reports for field operations and customers. • Produce accurate monthly financial reports with supporting documentation. • Apply financial controls to ensure project profitability and cash flow. • Manage invoicing to guarantee timely issuance and payment. • Support emergency and storm restoration activities. • Enforce applicable EH&S and quality programs.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree—preferably in industrial engineering, finance, accounting, or a related field—and have at least two years of project management experience in distribution construction. Required skills include a solid grasp of project management fundamentals, proficiency with MS Office (MS Project or Primavera a plus), and strong written and oral communication abilities for technical documents, presentations, and negotiations. The successful applicant will demonstrate high energy, the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment, and proven capability to build and maintain internal and external relationships. The position involves regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, and manual tasks such as handling tools and reaching with hands and arms. While the work environment is typically an office or administrative setting, the employee may encounter atmospheric conditions like fumes, dust, or poor ventilation that can affect the respiratory system and skin.
