About the Role

The role serves as a domain expert and leader in research, technology development, and demonstration. The incumbent acts as project lead, ensuring technical flow, tracking milestones, coordinating and mentoring team members. Key responsibilities include developing value propositions for technical projects, preparing government proposals, and executing project plans. The position also fosters business relationships by presenting ideas, participating in ideation events, and acquiring resources and funding, while cultivating external partnerships and aligning with emerging technologies. The role contributes to intellectual property generation through authoring disclosures and patents, applies appropriate processes, systems, and tools, and participates in international committees such as IEC, IEEE, NEN, VDE, SAG1, and CIRED. What You Bring

A PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, together with over ten years of progressive experience in researching, developing, and designing technology solutions. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of distribution grids, electrical infrastructures, IEC MV assembly products, and standards, as well as strong experience in areas such as power grid protection, control, resilience, substation automation, and IEC standards. Hands‑on experience with field or lab testing of operational technologies—including protection relays and grid automation controllers—is essential, as is familiarity with corporate R&D workflows, technical presentations, and project execution. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to build collaborative research programs, secure government‑funded proposals, lead stakeholder relationships, communicate fluently in English, and travel up to 10 % of the time. • Hold PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering; 10+ years of technology research and development experience • Deep knowledge of distribution grids, IEC MV assembly products, and related standards • Expertise in power grid protection, control, resilience, substation automation, and IEC standards • Experience in corporate R&D, technical presentations, and proposal development for government funding • Strong leadership, collaborative relationship building, and effective English communication • Willingness to travel up to 10 % of working time
