About the Role
The role involves overseeing all phases of the project, ensuring that systems are in place and progress is tracked against key targets. When issues arise, corrective actions are implemented and the client handover is coordinated. Technical documents such as design plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and job safety analyses are evaluated for compliance and quality. Downer plans, creates and sustains essential public services across Australia and New Zealand, managing critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centres and defence partnerships. • Oversee project set‑up, delivery and completion while establishing required systems. • Monitor programme, budget, quality, environmental and contractual performance and initiate corrective actions. • Coordinate the handover of completed works to the client. • Evaluate design and construction plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and job safety analyses. • Deliver medium‑to‑large, multi‑stakeholder projects successfully. • Apply development methodologies to meet scope and technical criteria. • Conduct commercial planning up to three months ahead, provide weekly progress and cost reports, and manage risk treatment plans. • Develop and oversee SHEQ processes and guide team members in their implementation. • Travel between project sites as required.

What You Bring
We have an opening for a Site Engineer with a background in building or building services. The role will support the Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture, a 50/50 partnership between Downer and CPB Contractors to upgrade and replace existing infrastructure and facilities. Candidates must hold an NV1 Security Clearance to work on the redevelopment project covering the Albury‑Wodonga Military Area, Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) and RAAF Base Wagga. This is a site‑based position in the RAAF Base Wagga area and relocation packages are available. Applicants need a security clearance and an engineering degree with relevant building services experience. They should have a track record of delivering complex, medium‑to‑large projects, planning ahead, reporting regularly, managing risks and leading safety and environmental processes. Flexibility to travel between sites and a strong work ethic are essential. • Hold or obtain an NV1 Government Security Clearance. • Possess an engineering degree with building or building‑services experience. • Demonstrate strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to high‑quality outcomes.
