About the Role
The Middle level Tester performs tests on commercial HVAC systems to verify they meet quality and production standards, correcting any issues found. The role requires safe, timely completion of duties in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. The Tech 5 Tester coordinates the work of co‑workers, ensuring production standards and schedules are met, and trains new employees. Responsibilities include ensuring parts availability, communicating effectively with management and other departments, completing formal training, operating recovery and reclaim machines to remove Freon, running test units, troubleshooting and repairing defects, verifying builds against work orders, and performing wiring, brazing, and assembly as required. Core mental functions include charging units with Freon, checking for leaks, coordinating activities with employees and other departments, locating and repairing leaks using brazing equipment, maintaining a safe work environment, and completing assignments to meet production schedules. • Test commercial HVAC systems to verify compliance with quality and engineering specifications. • Operate recovery and reclaim equipment to remove Freon before leak repairs. • Run and troubleshoot test units, repairing defects and ensuring proper functionality. • Verify unit construction against work orders and specifications; perform wiring, brazing, and assembly as needed. • Coordinate coworker activities, ensure production schedules and parts availability, and train new employees. • Communicate effectively with management and other departments to achieve departmental goals. • Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, stooping, and working in hot/cold, dusty, and chemically fumed conditions.

What You Bring
A minimum of vocational or technical training is required, with 0–5 years of industry experience or equivalent. Additional education beyond the minimum is considered an advantage for career development. The position requires an EPA 608 Universal refrigerant license, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Physical demands involve lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, stooping, prolonged sitting, and frequent visits to manufacturing facilities where employees encounter hot and cold temperatures, dust, and occasional chemical fume exposure. • Hold an EPA 608 Universal refrigerant license. • Possess vocational/technical training and 0‑5 years of relevant industry experience. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
