About the Role
The Service Technician receives service calls from the Service Resource Center, contacts customer representatives to verify equipment or system malfunctions, and diagnoses and repairs electronic fire alarm and related building systems on‑site. Work is performed by following prescribed troubleshooting procedures and referencing technical manuals, change notices, and bulletins. The role includes installing and servicing fire‑ and life‑safety systems from various manufacturers, such as SimplexGrinnell, and reading blueprints, schematics, and product manuals. • Receive and log service calls from the Service Resource Center. • Contact customer representatives to confirm equipment or system issues. • Diagnose, service, and repair electronic fire alarm and life‑safety systems on‑site. • Follow troubleshooting procedures and reference technical manuals, change notices, and bulletins. • Install, service, and troubleshoot fire‑alarm systems from multiple manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, submittals, specifications, and operational manuals. • Communicate consistently with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction. • Complete service acknowledgements, enter proper codes, and obtain customer signatures via mobile devices. • Participate in scheduled on‑call rotation and mentor fellow service team members. • Maintain truck inventory for timely response to service needs. • Utilize test equipment such as multimeters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices. • Perform physical labor, lifting up to 70 lb and working at heights up to 40 ft or in confined spaces. • Work flexible hours, including weekends, and travel overnight as required. • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.

What You Bring
