About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities. Roles include Commercial, Residential, and Roll‑off drivers, each navigating high‑traffic streets, alleys, driveways, and performing skilled backing maneuvers while safely handling containers that may exceed 1,000 lb. Drivers must follow WM safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR), report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions, attend mandatory training, and collaborate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and customer service. • Operate vehicles in compliance with WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip DVIR inspections and accurately document results. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, property damage, and service interruptions immediately. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings; relay customer requests to dispatch. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Navigate high‑traffic, residential, and industrial environments, executing precise backing maneuvers. • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and reaching safely.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include at least one year of recent experience operating a CDL‑Class A or B vehicle (or equivalent military driving) within the past seven years, being at least 18 years old, legal eligibility to work in the country, and an air‑brake endorsement; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The position involves regular standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
