About the Role
The Principal Structuring Analyst sits within the Portfolio Management and Strategy group and is responsible for pricing and valuing structured natural‑gas transactions such as physical index, basis, and fixed‑price products, as well as storage and transport assets. The role also leads structuring and participation in load auctions, government aggregation contracts, and responses to RFPs for large commercial and industrial customers, while supporting deal valuation for SMB and residential segments. Daily responsibilities involve collaborating with Sales and Trading teams to ensure favorable risk‑/reward structures, applying commercial and analytical expertise to oversee deal valuation and booking assumptions, and communicating complex recommendations to senior management. The analyst also drives process improvements, works with IT to enhance pricing systems, and maintains a real‑time understanding of natural‑gas market dynamics across multiple pipelines, states, and utilities. • Price and value structured natural‑gas transactions, including physical index, basis, and fixed‑price products. • Lead structuring and participation in load auctions, government aggregation contracts, and RFP responses for large C&I facilities. • Perform valuation of storage, transport assets, and mass‑market tariff structures for SMB and residential programs. • Collaborate daily with Sales and Trading teams to ensure favorable risk/reward outcomes for transactions. • Drive enhancements to pricing systems and cross‑functional processes through partnership with IT and business units.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, science or a related discipline, and at least eight years of experience in the energy industry. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and valuation skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and the capacity to prioritize and perform under time constraints with diverse stakeholders. Preferred qualifications encompass a master’s degree or MBA in finance, economics, energy or a related field, as well as trading experience with physical basis and index natural‑gas products. Additional desired experience includes energy risk management and transaction booking expertise. • Communicate complex analysis and recommendations clearly to senior management and diverse audiences. • Require a bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, science, or equivalent experience. • Require at least eight years of energy‑industry experience. • Demand strong analytical and valuation expertise for complex natural‑gas products. • Expect excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Prefer a master’s degree or MBA in finance, economics, energy, or related field. • Prefer trading experience with physical basis and index natural‑gas products. • Prefer experience in energy risk management and transaction booking.
