About the Role
The superintendent leads the safety culture, mentors staff, and oversees subcontractors, suppliers, and internal programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO. They develop work plans, manage site control, conduct daily stand‑ups, weekly trade meetings, and participate in progress and OAC meetings. Scheduling, budgeting, and communication with owners, designers, authorities, and subcontractors are central to the role. Additional duties include managing standalone projects from inception to completion, handling risks, coordinating internal deliverables, and driving negotiations for project changes. The superintendent supports procurement processes, material and equipment logistics, timecard approvals, quality compliance, and project closeout activities. They also recruit talent, champion diversity and inclusion, and collaborate with field and project leadership on staffing and pre‑planning. • Lead safety culture, mentor staff, investigate incidents and retrain as needed • Manage subcontractors and overall job workflow • Oversee staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and Safety/Quality/EEO programs • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self‑performed work • Coordinate site care, custody and control • Conduct daily stand‑up and weekly trade meetings • Participate in progress and OAC meetings • Create, adjust, and implement project schedule with PM • Track and monitor project budget and costs using cost reports • Communicate key information to owners, designers, authorities, subcontractors and suppliers • Maintain project documentation, update drawings, logs and inspection notebooks • Approve and record unit cost data; produce daily and weekly reports • Evaluate self‑perform work progress and make adjustments • Manage material and equipment requirements • Support MOC and DLSC procurement and approval processes • Select formwork, tools and equipment for self‑perform operations • Approve timecards and ensure accurate cost coding • Ensure quality compliance via specifications, QA/QC standards and external resources • Supervise pre‑punch activities and coordinate project closeout with stakeholders • Develop and monitor project pre‑plan throughout lifecycle • Partner with field leadership to staff the project • Collaborate with project management on schedule and cost changes • Negotiate project changes with owners and architects • Prepare and present at project review and monthly meetings • Lead buy‑out meetings with subcontractors and vendors • Apply contract terms and conditions for owners and subcontractors • Identify and recruit top talent • Promote diversity, inclusion and non‑discrimination policies • Manage standalone projects from start to finish • Oversee management, scheduling, production, safety and quality on assigned scope • Identify, assess and mitigate project risks • Diagnose problems and propose solutions for team implementation • Coordinate deliverables from internal resources such as IPS and logistics • Participate in project pursuit activities • Deliver effective presentations • Build lasting relationships with team members • Use project management and accounting software • Operate scheduling software • Manage budgets, maximize profitability and generate future work • Perform layout tasks • Conduct crane flagging and rigging • Assess document changes and schedule impacts • Collaborate internally and externally within teams • Work in extreme temperature conditions • Work non‑traditional hours to meet project needs • Perform frequent physical activities (standing, walking, climbing, etc.) • Occasionally sit and view computer screens

What You Bring
The position requires accurate, timely work execution, strong verbal and written communication, and effective presentation skills. Candidates should be proficient in MS Office, scheduling, project management and accounting software, and JE Dunn’s construction technology, with an intermediate grasp of Lean principles. A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred. Minimum experience includes 5 + years in construction and 3 + years in field supervision, with Lean experience considered a plus. Applicants must hold a valid unrestricted driver’s license, be able to lift 50 lb, and may need to travel or relocate. Work can involve extreme temperatures and non‑traditional hours, with frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, and climbing.
