About the Role
Technician III is responsible for operating the facility, including mechanical and supporting systems, and performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as routine and on‑demand services on facility mechanical equipment and other systems. The role also requires adherence to established processes, practices, and compliance with internal and external requirements such as environmental, health and safety, and fire protection. The position involves troubleshooting equipment and system deficiencies, conducting regular monitoring inspections, responding to service requests, and managing the work‑order lifecycle from dispatch to completion while recording resolution data. The technician supports the implementation of a preventative maintenance program, conducts facility walkthroughs, operates mechanical and other systems, and assists with facility‑related projects. Maintaining tools, submitting expenditures promptly, and performing other assigned duties are also required. • Observe facility mechanical/electrical equipment, identify deficiencies, and suggest enhancements or repairs.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high‑school diploma with trades training or certification, at least three years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems, and a solid understanding of facility operations, building automation, and HVAC systems. They should demonstrate strong environmental, health and safety awareness, client‑service orientation, effective communication, and mentoring skills for lower‑level technicians. Availability for shift work, on‑call, emergency call‑outs, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain security clearance are mandatory. BGIS may use artificial intelligence in certain stages of the hiring process to screen, assess, or select applicants, but all final decisions are made by a human reviewer. • Building Operator Certification or equivalent from an accredited institution. • Provincial HVAC or apprentice license (e.g., Gasfitter I & II, refrigeration license).

Benefits
Compensation is hourly, ranging from $28.30 to $33.29, with the starting salary based on the candidate’s competencies, experience, education, and performance. The role is a regular, full‑time position.
