About the Role

The Labor Foreman 1 supports construction activities on a jobsite by working with tools, coordinating tasks such as concrete placement prep, carpenter tender, demolition, site cleanup, material handling, running a buck hoist, and traffic control. This role performs tasks personally while supervising a crew, aligning with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. • Make decisions within assigned areas, recommend to supervisor, and refer exceptions as needed. • Demonstrate and mentor commitment to a safe, injury‑free worksite. • Perform assigned tasks using hand and power tools. • Track and submit labor hours and timecards. • Maintain and care for tools and equipment required for the project. • Lead crew safety and security procedures and achieve production goals. • Determine appropriate crew sizes to meet production targets. • Document activities, production data, and crew sizes. • Coordinate material deliveries and communicate with suppliers. • Uphold established quality standards for all duties. • Coordinate other trades as required for the scope of work. • Conduct safety activities such as toolbox talks, hazard analyses, site analyses, and SIMS reporting. • Provide on‑the‑job guidance and share expertise to develop team members. • Arrange inspections for assigned scope and assist with punch‑list completion. • Apply Lean processes and improve labor productivity. • Operate crane flagging and rigging at an intermediate level. • Build collaborative relationships within internal and external teams.

What You Bring

• Perform work accurately, completely, and timely. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Understand construction trade scopes, self‑perform work, and construction management methods. • Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. • Required experience: 2+ years in commercial construction. • Physical demands: lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb, bend, reach overhead, push, pull; occasional sitting and computer work. • May require travel, exposure to extreme weather, and non‑traditional hours to meet project needs.
