About the Role

The Application Engineer for the NA Motors and Drives Business Unit acts as the technical liaison between Regal Rexnord and its key customers. This role translates customer drawings, specifications, and requests into product solutions, learns customer applications to develop tests and procedures, and identifies opportunities to add value while driving profitable growth. The engineer serves as the subject‑matter expert on motor and drive products at customer sites and coordinates between the customer’s engineering team and Regal’s internal engineering team. Responsibilities also include supporting product changes, deviations, sample development, and conducting reliability tear‑down analysis for root‑cause correction. • Serve as technical liaison for NA Motors and Drives customers and lead qualification of existing and new motors (ECM & PSC). • Learn customer applications to establish tests and procedures that qualify products and optimize tools. • Act as main point of contact between customer engineering team and Regal’s NA Motors and Drives engineering team. • Support routine product changes, deviations, and sample development. • Provide subject‑matter expertise in motor technology at customer sites. • Deliver tailored solutions for customer applications. • Evaluate customer applications and proactively identify value‑adding opportunities while driving profitable growth. • Conduct competitive analysis on motors from other manufacturers. • Strengthen customer relationships by timely resolution of outstanding issues. • Translate customer requirements into internal product design specifications. • Lead or support internal qualification efforts on customer‑focused design changes and transition projects. • Perform basic product tear‑down analysis of reliability returns for root‑cause determination and corrective action. • Support Digital Customer Experience (DCX) initiatives, including FAQ content and digital product information.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • Strong organizational skills with emphasis on documentation. • Ability to gather requirements, write specifications, test plans, and application notes. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Strong relationship and team‑building abilities, including conflict resolution. • Proactive, high‑energy problem‑solver with effective time‑management skills. • Willingness to learn, create, and adapt to new technologies. • Aptitude for troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues. • Ability to travel and work on‑site for extended periods. • 1–3 years experience in HVAC, commercial appliance, commercial refrigeration, or electric motor industry. • Ability to interpret electronics and HVAC schematics, bills of materials, and engineering drawings. • Six Sigma training; statistical analysis experience; Greenbelt certification. • Design experience with ECM and/or PSC motors. • Travel to customer locations required, less than 30% of time. • Fluency in English required; Spanish a plus.
