About the Role
Key responsibilities include cleaning kitchen items, managing waste, transporting patient trays, and assisting chefs with a variety of kitchen tasks. Downer plans, creates and sustains essential public services across Australia and New Zealand, managing critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centres and defence partnerships. • Clean crockery, cutlery, trolleys, kitchen utensils and equipment. • Empty and replace rubbish bags. • Pick up patient trays using allocated trolleys on wards and lounges. • Assist chefs with tasks in the kitchen.

What You Bring
The role requires a minimum of one year’s experience in a professional commercial kitchen, preferably within a healthcare setting and familiar with HACCP standards. Candidates should present a high standard of personal appearance, possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude. • Minimum 1 year experience in a professional commercial kitchen. • Experience in a healthcare environment (hospital or aged care) preferred. • Worked in a HACCP‑certified environment preferred. • Maintain high standard of personal presentation and strong communication skills. • Demonstrate teamwork, strong work ethic and positive attitude.
