Job Highlights
About the Role
The Land Surveyor role involves precise surveying and setting‑out for stormwater and microtunneling projects, including shafts, tunnels, pipelines, and related structures. The surveyor must ensure construction alignments, levels, and coordinates match approved drawings, project specifications, and RTA/DM standards. Responsibilities also cover verification, as‑built surveys, and support during testing, commissioning, and handover. • Perform topographic, control, and setting‑out surveys for stormwater and microtunneling works, including pipelines, shafts, and manholes. • Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids in coordination with the contractor’s survey team. • Review and apply approved IFC drawings, alignment data, and coordinate systems per RTA and project requirements. • Check and verify horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drives, and shaft locations before and during construction. • Conduct as‑built surveys and validate contractors’ as‑built drawings prior to submission. • Monitor microtunneling drive alignments and breakthrough coordinates, ensuring tolerances are met. • Maintain accurate survey records, field books, and digital data files for full traceability. • Coordinate with contractors and supervision team to resolve on‑site survey discrepancies. • Certify survey results for measurement sheets, interim payments, and progress verification. • Participate in pre‑construction and progress meetings to report survey status and site constraints. • Ensure compliance with HSE standards during all field operations, especially in confined‑space and shaft areas. • Calibrate and maintain survey instruments (total stations, GPS, digital levels) according to QA/QC procedures. • Support testing, commissioning, and handover by verifying final levels and coordinates.
