About the Role

In this position you will lead cross‑functional teams of engineers, planners and other specialists to deliver signaling and Positive Train Control (PTC) designs across multiple concurrent Amtrak and other Northeast Corridor projects. You will ensure that systems‑engineering concepts are applied throughout the entire project life‑cycle, from concept development and preliminary design through final design, procurement, construction, integration, testing, commissioning and transition to operations and maintenance. You will review signaling concepts, technical designs and specifications for compliance with standards and cost estimates, coordinate with stakeholders and contractors, and keep abreast of the latest signal‑engineering practices. You will also support business‑development efforts, participate in WSP’s quality processes, lead contract negotiations and client presentations, and conduct project meetings to address challenges and drive satisfactory outcomes. The role includes managing and providing performance guidance to assigned staff, collaborating with professionals across disciplines to act as a trusted advisor, and making ethical decisions regarding company resources in line with WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Lead cross‑functional teams on signaling and PTC design for multiple Northeast Corridor projects • Apply systems‑engineering processes throughout the project life‑cycle, from concept to operations • Review designs and specifications for compliance, cost, and stakeholder coordination • Stay current with signal‑engineering techniques and support business‑development proposals • Participate in quality assurance, contract negotiations, client presentations and project meetings • Provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff • Act as a trusted‑advisor across disciplines to deliver future‑ready solutions • Maintain immediate U.S. work authorization, safety compliance, and adaptability to changing schedules

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or a related field), at least ten years of post‑graduation experience in planning, design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, cut‑over, project and construction management of signaling and PTC systems for Amtrak or other Northeast Corridor railroads, and an engineer’s license (or ability to obtain it within six months). Advanced written and interpersonal communication skills, strong systems‑engineering expertise, critical‑thinking abilities, immediate U.S. work authorization, and a proven safety record are also required. • Hold a BS in engineering, 10+ years of signaling/PTC experience, and an engineer license (or obtain within 6 months) • Demonstrate advanced written and interpersonal communication skills • Proficient in systems‑engineering principles and critical document review • Preferred: Master’s degree, OSHA HAZWOPER training, First Aid/CPR certification

Benefits

A master’s degree in engineering, 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, and basic First Aid/CPR certification are preferred.
