About the Role

The Senior Structural Engineer role offers the chance to design and assist on projects assigned by the Group Leader, preparing detailed designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings while overseeing CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers. This position is part of a 100‑percent employee‑owned organization that supports career advancement and fulfillment. • Design and supervise projects, establishing client briefs, technical requirements, scopes, cost plans, and deliverables such as reports, calculations, specifications, schedules, and drawings. • Agree on service levels and design duties with the Group Leader, understanding the relationship to project fees. • Assist the Group Leader in monitoring engineering, CAD, and Revit resource needs for each assigned project. • Develop concepts through detailed designs, including tender and contract phases. • Attend meetings, conduct site visits and surveys, and monitor work progress as required. • Coordinate with the design team to produce integrated designs and conduct regular in‑house design reviews and checks. • Track and control project progress, design variations, and financial budgets where applicable. • Maintain strong client and design‑team relationships to achieve high satisfaction and repeat business.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative, fast‑paced settings, acts as a mentor to junior engineers, and works closely with other disciplines and contractors to exceed client expectations. They are personable, self‑starting, maintain a positive ‘can‑do’ attitude, handle pressure, manage varied workloads, meet tight deadlines, and uphold the highest technical standards. • Hold a BEng or MSc in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and possess a minimum of five years’ experience in structural engineering design and project management. • Demonstrate proficiency with Revit, Tekla, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, and Microsoft Office for analysis and documentation. • Design and detail structures in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, with knowledge of gravity and lateral analysis. • Experience in structural design for data centres is highly advantageous. • Pursue Chartered status or relevant business qualifications and show commitment to the employee‑owned culture.
